- Senior Director of Development Services, 1994. Provided documentation, usability, localization, quality assurance, and technical support services to Micrografx customers, both internal and external. Managed 35 people including five direct reports. Directed the building of a usability lab.
- Director of Global Documentation and Usability Services, 1993 to 1994. Managed all user documentation using both internal resources and contractors. Pursued cost-cutting methods of documentation preparation: online books, disk-to-plate technology, and using MS Word as a DTP vehicle. Started a usability testing program resulting in easier-to-use interfaces in all the software evaluated.
- Director of International Projects, 1990 to 1993. Built and managed a department dedicated to the localization of software products. Evaluated bids from translation companies, arranged translation contracts, coordinated localizations for all software product components into up to ten languages, including Japanese. Monitored English software and documentation to guarantee a global outlook to ease transition to other languages and markets.
Responsible for all components in international products, including the box itself. Coordinated with international offices and Operations department for delivery of film for manuals, boxes, and stickers.
Managed eight people working in all phases of product localization: development, translation, recompiling of resources, and creation of masters.
Arranged and directed a three-day International Localization Conference in Paris in October, 1992, attended by translators representing seven European countries for training in new methods and discussion of localization issues.
